BestFeed™ Server
BestFeed server provides clients with the ability to manage the quality of real-time data on their Triarch™network. It is a Reuters
SSL™source server that listens to several data feeds, delivering data for a given set of instruments and provides a single output service with data from the most preferred feed on Triarch™network.
Desirability of a data feed is determined by logic separate from the server, which is managed by the business users of the data. The various data sources feeding data for a given dataset (collection of data) will be ranked in order of their desirability and the connection state of each source ("OK", "SUSPECT", "DOWN").
In the event that the preferred data source for a given dataset is not O.K. then the server will seamlessly switch to the next preferable data source for that dataset, performing any necessary symbol conversion, so that the switchover is transparent to the end user.
BestFeed server requires Sun Ultra SPARC workstation with Solaris 2.5.1 or higher, and can be run in a multiple server configuration to provide load balancing and failover. It is fully compliant with Reuters data permissioning mechanism
(DACS™) and provides administrative facilities to fully configure the datasets. The system also incorporates a comprehensive logging facility.
